As we focus on our growth plans and continued improvements and enhancements to our products and services, creating a great Customer Experience, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Front End Developer to join our growing and passionate Software team.   We are on an exciting journey to transform our business to one where digital learning is central to everything that we do, from Virtual Classroom activity, word class eLearning and interactive content to customer focused solutions in systems integration and data insights of learning outcomes.  To deliver this we need a talented Senior Front End Developer.

• You will be responsible for shaping and implementing web interfaces and applications of our SaaS products, within the domain of digital and eLearning platforms.

• Ideally you will have previous experience of designing and delivering technical design and specification that offers a first class UX and UI, working with modern code and software practice and principles.  However, we are also keen to here from applicants who have the potential and can demonstrate the drive and motivation to step into that next role in their career.

• We have recently engaged with an external design agency to scope out the vision for our flagship product, Workplace DNA, and this role will lead the journey on turning this design work and vision into a fully functioning product.

The role sits within the growing and recently restructured Development team, which houses our talented and dedicated developers, who are eager to learn, grow and progress within our business and will gain greatly from a great mentor and coach to support their journey.  Reporting into the Project Manager, you will work closely with the Lead Developer and have line management responsibility for a mid-level.

Full responsibilties:

• Collaborate across the business to design and refine software development requirements, focused on our Front-End customer facing web products.

• Work closely with the Lead Developer on software architecture of front-end features and ensuring design and functionality, user acceptance works in line with back end architecture and features.

• Manage the Front-End development works for eLearning technologies, through strategic development and improvements of UX and UI design.

• Oversee build, test, and deployment of both new & improvement features.

• Through knowledge share and experience support the growth and development of the development team.

• Support the Sales Manager on Client engagement activities with new clients ensure IW products are successfully adopted and integrated into the client’s systems and practice.

• Provide support to key clients throughout the product implementation, including second-line technical support and troubleshooting to end users.

• Assist in maintaining our brand across all our client facing interfaces.

Technical Skills / Systems / Software

• Strong UI & UX, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap CSS 4/5, Tailwind/ CSS, JS frameworks in Vue JS, React or Angular

• Good knowledge of version control (GIT)

• A good understanding of REST and RPC principles​​​​​​​

• Instructional Design

• Write functional requirement documents and guides​​​​​​​

• Understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD)

• Understanding of mobile first design

• Be conscientious about non-functional requirement (i.e., page loading times)

• Knowledge of linters, enforcing coding standards and reviewing pull requests​​​​​​​

The person

The role at times can be a point of contact for clients who are integrating IWs products into their systems and workflows so previous experience of direct client interaction would be advantageous, though we encourage anyone with a desire and drive to develop in this are to apply.  The role will work closely with the Sales Director in Business Development opportunities and the Content team in developing eLearning content and functionality.
