Managing risks in international travel: new guidance
A 2015 survey by the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) and International SOS identified travel risk management as a key issue for 70% of risk and insurance manager respondents. FERMA has recently cooperated with partners including International SOS and law firm DLA Piper to produce a paper to help risk and insurance managers better understand their responsibilities towards work-related international travel and assignments. The paper will make interesting reading for anyone in human resources, facilities management or health and safety roles responsible for travel risk management. Contents include:
- A legal review of Duty of Care for organisations in Europe by law firm DLA Piper;
- Best practices and practical experiences from leading risk practitioners, representing Atlas Copco, CMI Groupe, DLA Piper, Drägerwerk, Kering, and Wolters Kluwer;
- A Travel Risk Management Toolbox that outlines health and travel security measures organisations can implement to help reduce risks for their travellers and international assignees;
- A review of the transposition of the EU legislation in 15 Member States which shows that national laws vary always toward greater health, safety and security responsibilities for organisations towards their workers.
