The CIPD Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Human Resources Practice provides a firm foundation and helps develop practical skills, giving you the confidence to be more effective at work. Whether you are at the start of your career or want to gain a professional qualification in order to further your career, this CIPD accredited training course will give you the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to achieve your goals and support your organisation more effectively.

The CIPD Diploma in HR Practice is set at undergraduate level, this Foundation Level qualification will help to develop your ability to evaluate the effectiveness of different Human Resources (HR) models and practices and increases the understanding of the external factors that impact upon HR activities and organisations, whilst also developing planning, analytical and problem solving skills. This CIPD qualification will also offer you the opportunity to build on your expertise in HR.

Diploma VS Certificate

The CIPD Level 3 Foundation Diploma in HR Practice follows a similar path to CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in HR Practice but requires 37 credits rather than 28 credits and covers more topics.

These credits are achieved by studying a core module over three days and then 4 further two day modules which are chosen by you. Each of these modules inlcude required home study.

The International Workplace Foundation Dipoma in Human Resources Practice (DHRP) blended courses takes approx 30 weeks to complete in London or Cambridge. Taught by practioners who are actual HR people with a vast wealth of real-life hands on industry experience.

Mode of study

The Diploma course is delivered via blended learning.

Approximately half the course is taught by self-study using comprehensive eLearning materials, allowing you to learn at your own pace and cutting the costs of travel and the time you need to spend away from the workplace.  Exercises, tutorials and interactive learning tools are provided via the eLearning platform on the International Workplace website, where you will also be able to post questions to tutors and each other to keep yourselves in touch.

The other half of the course is taught in classroom blocks in our training centres in London or Cambridge, giving you the opportunity to interact with other course students, meet your supportive tutors, ask questions and really get to grips with the practical elements of the subject.

The course structure is intended to be more easily accessible to students and will represent the core competencies needed to operate at a particular level in HR practice.

The International Workplace Executive Centre (IWEC) is a custom built training centre in the heart of London’s busy legal district and offers an ideal learning environment tailored specifically for International Workplace Training courses, it is also available to hire for any events.

To achieve the CIPD Level 3 Diploma in HR Practice, delegates must study attain 37 credits.

The Core Classes comprise 10 of the 37 credits required for the Diploma. Then delegates study four 2 day blocks worth six credits each and a final 3 credit eLearning module. The rest of the time is spent working on questions and quizzes via our eLearning platform.

Core 3 day block (10 credits)

  • Developing yourself as an effective HR professional
  • Understanding HR and the organisational context
  • Recording, analysing and using human resource information

Then study all 2 day blocks to complete the qualification (6 credits each)

  • Supporting good practice in managing employee relations
  • Resourcing talent
  • Supporting good practice in performance and reward management
  • Delivering learning and development activities

Additional eLearning module (3 credits)

  • Contributing to the process of job analysis

Qualification assessment, accreditation and awards:

There are no examinations. You will be required to produce a portfolio of written assignments, skills assignments (which take place during the tutorial sessions), a learning log and a personal development plan. Successful completion of the course leads to Associate membership of the CIPD. Associate membership is the first level of professional membership of the CIPD, and allows you to use the designation Assoc CIPD after your name to showcase your credentials.
