Prestigious new FM Award for young managers – entries invited
One of the historic London Livery Companies, with a strong connection to the facilities management world, is inviting nominations for an award for a young manager in FM.
The Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers is offering a very special award to a young person who shows potential as a future star in FM. As Managing Director of International Workplace, I’m delighted to be on the judging panel, along with Chair of the the RICS FM Board, Kath Fontana, BIFM Lifetime Achievement Award winner Martin Pickard, and experienced FM, Richard Muir.
The Pattenmakers’ Award 2016 includes a personally tailored 12-month training programme, developed and supported by a learning and development professional through the year. The winner will also be invited to receive the Freedom of the City of London, Freeman membership of the Company and to attend a white tie banquet at the Mansion House attended by The Lord Mayor.
Candidates must be between 21 and 32 and working in a management role in FM. The Award will be judged by an interview panel, comprised of senior members from the Facilities Management industry and is supported by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). The judges are looking for someone who:
- is enthusiastic about a career in FM, or has aspirations to have a career in FM;
- can demonstrate their commitment to their own personal development;
- has potential for future promotion to a senior role;
- has a high standard of professional ethics;
- can demonstrate initiative; and
- displays leadership behaviours inside and outside of the workplace.
Interviews will be held in London on Friday, 13 November 2015. There is also a Young Pattenmakers’ Dinner the same evening, to which all applicants will be invited, although attendance is optional.
If you think have a potential star in your team please email Martin Pickard on email@example.com who will arrange for you to be sent additional information and a nomination form which must be completed and returned by 30 October.
