Exclusive Asbestos at Work Free Lunchtime Seminar for Workplace Law Network Members
Following the success of our Asbestos at Work Lunchtime Seminar in January, Workplace Law Training will be running a second Seminar on Monday, 17 May 2004. We would like to invite all Workplace Law Network members to this exclusive free lunch-time seminar for Workplacelaw which is taking place in central London.
The seminar will update you on the health and safety aspects of asbestos in the workplace and highlight areas where many companies may find themselves exposed to high levels of risk. New legislation comes into effect this month on 21 May 2004 meaning you will have to compile an asbestos management plan for all of your company's commercial buildings before this date.
The Asbestos at Work Seminar gives you the opportunity to ensure that your company gets to grips with these new regulations.
The seminar provides practical, plain English guidance on key areas of risk, including:
- identifying what is - and is not - asbestos
- drawing up an asbestos management plan
- minimizing financial exposure when acquiring or disposing of premises
- ensuring your bases are covered before the 21 May 2004 deadline
The speakers include John Richards - Technical Director at Thames Laboratories who has been involved in the technical side of the asbestos management industry for 20 years - and Kathryn Gilbertson - Partner who heads up the Corporate Safety Group at Law Firm Dechert. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions!
The seminar takes place from 12.30-1.30pm at Dechert, 2 Serjeants' Inn, London, EC4Y 1LT. Please report to reception and ask for the 'Workplace Law Training' seminar. The event is followed by a light buffet and refreshments, giving you an opportunity to network with speakers and delegates.
Places on this exclusive free seminar are strictly limited to 50 people, and are available on a first come, first served basis.
