Fifth series of strategic FM case studies published today

Today sees the launch of the fifth series of Strategic Facilities Management case studies from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, authored by International Workplace. The latest series of case studies focuses on societal impact, and showcases great work being done by ISS Facility Services, Servest, Sodexo, KBR, Aviva, and VINCI Facilities, working in partnership with their clients, suppliers and for and on behalf of their communities.

The case studies, drawn from a variety of sectors, explore the wide-ranging influence and impact that FM services have on people and communities.

David Sharp, Managing Director of International Workplace, explains:

“This is now the fifth series of case studies we’ve authored on behalf of RICS to showcase the exceptional work being done by employers in the FM sector. These latest six case studies focus on the value that facilities management adds in terms of societal impact.

"They include some engaging real-world examples of how a planned approach to FM can not only address unfairness and imbalance, but can also be used to turn problems into opportunities – making work more accessible, attractive and rewarding for a wider range of employees, fostering closer ties within communities whilst ultimately enhancing the firm's professional standing.

“These may sound like grand claims, especially at a time when the reputation of FM service providers operating in the public sector has attracted a lot of criticism. But this new series shows that an enlightened, strategic approach to the procurement, provision and management of FM services is indeed making a measurable impact on the fabric of society.”

A PDF version of the case studies will be available to download from the RICS website after the launch this evening.
