Fire safety conference launched

Workplace law has launched the national Fire Safety Conference 2005, which takes place in London on 19 October 2005.

The event is designed to help facilities and premises managers, chartered surveyors, architects, maintenance personnel, landlords and tenants, providing detailed practical guidance on key issues including:

- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997 and Amendments 1999
- Disability Discrimination Act 2005
- Proposed amendments to the Building Regulations: Part B
- New case studies
- and much more

This is the biggest single reform of fire safety legislation in nearly 35 years which will simplify the law for thousands of businesses while placing a greater focus on prevention. The new law consolidates existing fire legislation, and repeals the Fire Precautions Act 1971. At present fire safety laws are scattered across more than 70 pieces of legislation.

The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order improves fire safety by placing the responsibility for fire safety on the employer or 'responsible person' for that building or premises. He or she will be required to assess the risks of fire and take steps to reduce or remove them. It is essential that you understand your responsibilities under this new legislation.

Whether you are a past delegate seeking the latest up-to-date information or are new to Workplace Law Training, this is an essential networking conference that will give you all you need to know in just one-day.
