Is your organisation a leader in learning and career development?

Entries for the BIFM Awards are now open, and as a partner of the BIFM we’re inviting you to submit your entry to the Learning & Career Development category in good time before the closing date, Friday 2 May.

The BIFM Awards 2014 showcase the very best in facilities management. The contribution of learning development professionals to delivering operational performance has become more widely recognised in the FM sector, with talent management and development programmes  now considered a core element of human resources strategy. So, now really is the best time to showcase what a great job your organisation is doing!

The Learning & Career Development Award recognises FM organisations or internal FM teams who can provide demonstrable commitment to improving the knowledge and skills of their people within the FM profession.

Workplace Law Managing Director, David Sharp, Lead Judge for the BIFM Awards Learning & Career Development category, comments:

“We are looking for a winner who shows a real long-term commitment to learning that goes well beyond the bare minimum, to contribute to people’s personal development as much as it does to the bottom line.”

The awards experience is really worthwhile and here is what last year’s winners had to say about their 2013 entry. David Howorth, Managing Director, Mitie’s client services business, said:

“Being recognised with the BIFM Learning & Career Development award in 2013 was a huge achievement for Mitie’s client services business. The comprehensive entry process highlighted many areas of expertise that are often overlooked, so it was a fantastic accolade for our learning and development team to be benchmarked against the best in the industry, and win!

“The award commended our exceptional internal training offering, which we also offer as a consultancy service to other organisations. Since then, we’ve seen a marked increase in interest from companies wanting us to work with their leadership and front line teams in developing their own organisational culture. The end result has been both motivational, and a great boost for our business!”
