New IOSH qualification ‘by end 2017’

IOSH has announced it has begun work on developing a formal qualification, which will build on the learning gained in IOSH Managing Safely and provide an entry route into IOSH membership.

Details are sketchy at the moment. All we know is that the qualification is in development and is due to be launched at the end of 2017.

Announcement of the move follows recent clarification by IOSH surrounding the formal status of its popular suite of courses in the Working …, Managing … and Leading with … series.

The Institution has been at pains to emphasise that these best-selling courses are ‘approved’ rather than ‘accredited’ by IOSH, in order to distinguish them from courses that lead to qualifications that are recognised with the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).
