Workplace Law celebrates official opening of London training centre

Staff, customers, associates and friends of Workplace Law gathered at Clerkenwell in London this week for the official opening of the new Workplace Law Executive Centre (WPLEC) – the firm’s dedicated new training centre in the heart of the Capital.

The new training centre, which is fully accessible to all, offers four training rooms, two interview rooms, and a spacious break out area, and is equipped with the latest AV technology, including interactive white boards with huge touchscreens.

Guests at the opening event admired the contemporary furnishings, augmented by plenty of natural light and a selection of images specially commissioned by Workplace Law:  its ‘Project 57’ gallery features some of the company’s key clients, including Pentland Brands, Qinetiq, Broadgate Estates, Transport for London and Wellcome Trust.

In his opening speech, founder and Managing Director, David Sharp, thanked those who had helped turn a shell and core space into a fully functioning training centre in just six months, including Workplace Law’s own Facilities Manager, Kate Gardner and Principal Contractor, Andy Gardner. He also thanked Barclay’s Bank, who funded the project.

Mrs Dorothy Purdew OBE, Chairman of spa resorts, Champneys, performed the official opening ceremony and spoke warmly of both the need to take risks to expand a business, and of putting something back by raising funds for worthy causes.

Says Workplace Law MD, David Sharp:

“Although the idea of opening a dedicated training centre seemed the most obvious direction for the company to take, maintaining confidence and momentum during an economic turndown was an important ingredient in ensuring we got the centre up and running.

“I’m delighted to say we’ve achieved everything we set out to do and the positive feedback and wonderful atmosphere at the opening event reflects that.”
