Workplace Law Handbook 2008 - new edition launched

Workplace Law Network is pleased to announce the launch of the 2008 Workplace Law Handbook. With 15 new subjects, and a total of 164 fully revised and updated chapters, to reflect recent changes in legislation, the Workplace Law Handbook 2008 is essential guidance for any business.

The Handbook will be published on 2 November 2007, but early-bookers will receive a £5 discount if you order before then. Please quote reference 3094. The Workplace Law Handbook 2008 features over 800 pages of updated practical information for workplace managers in an easy to read A-Z format.

  • A-Z guidance on everything you need to know about HR and employment law, health and safety and premises management in the next 12 months.
  • 164 fully revised and updated chapters to help you get to grips with the latest guidance and information.
  • New comment pieces giving insight into what legal experts think about new legislation.
  • Designed to give you accurate, up-to-date information on the spot.

In line with our policy of continually improving the Handbook’s content, we have for this edition expanded the number of A–Z articles to 164, all fully revised and updated, including the latest legislation regarding smoking, driving, discrimination, flexible working, WEEE, CDM and corporate manslaughter.  The 2008 edition includes new chapters containing completely new information on health and safety inspections, holiday entitlement, recycling, competence and responsible persons, mobile phones policies, sustainability, migrant workers, garden leave (and restricted covenants), training, REACH, probationary periods, disability access and egress, strikes and much more.

Every business in the UK should own a copy of this essential publication!

All the guidance is written and compiled by our team of expert editors, including top law firms, surveyors, safety consultants and regulatory bodies.

This year we have introduced a number of comment pieces to the Handbook so that as well as the information, facts and guidance offered by the 164 chapters, you will also gain an insight into what the legal experts think, particularly of new legislation. Exclusive new content includes a briefing on the use of Facebook in the workplace, new comment on the Employment Simplification Bill, changes regarding Employment Tribunals, and comment on smoking litter.

What our readers say

"The information provided on all aspects of employment law and health and safety legislation has been a key asset towards ensuring that our organisation is compliant and aware of current and future changes." Liz King, Scynexis Europe Ltd

"I rarely get excited about things to do with health and safety anymore as it can be tedious hunting for information. But this book is like the bible, it is so well compiled, easy to use and understand. In my point of view the handiest part of the book is the listed legislation for each of the subjects." Mike Booth, Jones Lang La Salle
