Middle East eLearning market worth $558.1m in 2016

Global research firm Research and Markets has announced the publication of a new report: Middle East Online Education & E Learning Market Size, Demand, Opportunity & Growth Outlook 2023.

According to its findings, the Middle East online education and eLearning market was valued at US $558.1m in 2016 and is expected to register a 9.8% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) through to 2023. Market growth is likely to be driven by the huge government investment and rapid adoption of online education and e-learning by educational institutes and corporate organizations.

Geographically, the online education and eLearning market of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has the largest market share and is expected to be worth US $237.1 Million by 2023. The KSA education sector has seen a transition from traditional teacher-centered approach to learner-centered approach. Further, adoption of distance and mobile learning practices is expected to spur market growth.

UAE is considered to be the second-largest market, and to grow at a CAGR of 10.3% over the forecast period. The UAE online education and eLearning market is expected to experience high growth on the back of increasing government investment to digitise the education sector. The report also forecasts significant growth for digital learning in Oman, which is investing heavily in education and computer literacy.
