Workplace Law launches new CIPD professional training courses

Workplace Law Training has launched two new CIPD courses for HR and Personnel professionals. These new qualifications add to Workplace Law’s portfolio of accredited training courses and offer workplace managers across the UK the chance to increase their professional development in HR law and practice. Both courses are launched pending final approval from CIPD.

1. Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP): Fast-track programme

The CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice provides a firm foundation in all the areas of personnel and is a natural pre-course study route towards undertaking the CIPD's Professional Development Scheme. It will help you develop practical, relevant skills and above all, will give you the confidence to be more effective at work.

The course will help you to:

  • gain a broad grasp of employment law so you can set your own organisation’s policies and procedures in context;
  • understand how to implement best practice in recruitment and selection;
  • assess how well-planned performance review processes can boost team performance;
  • develop face-to-face interviewing techniques;
  • identify, plan and evaluate training intervention;
  • get your qualification in just 20 weeks.

The CIPD Certificate in Personnel Practice is a foundation level standard, at an equivalent level to NVQ/SVQ Level 3.

Who is this course for?

  • Those new to HR/Personnel
  • Individuals interested in a move into HR/Personnel
  • Line managers who are involved in HR/Personnel activities
  • HR staff who do not have sufficient qualifications to undertake the full PDS

Pre-requisites

You don’t need any previous experience to take this course, however, some personnel experience would be beneficial. You will also need an email address and access to the internet. You will be required to take part in a telephone interview prior to release of your study materials.

Course dates

Induction Day: 2 March

Week 1: 23 – 26 April (although might change to 16 – 19 April due to tutor availability)

Week 2: 4 – 7 June (although might change to 11 – 14 June due to tutor availability)

Course fees: £1799 plus VAT.

Includes: all course fees, 1 yrs individual membership to the Workplace Law Network, a copy of the textbook Personnel Practice.

Does not include: Student Membership of the CIPD (compulsory for anyone taking the course).

2. Certificate in Employment Relations Law and Practice (CERLAP)

The CIPD Certificate in Employment Relations Law and Practice is a foundation level programme, at an equivalent level to NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Personnel.

The course is designed to introduce you to a wide range of practical skills and knowledge used within employment practices.

The course will help you to:

  • Develop the skills needed in employment practice;
  • Gain an awareness of the context of employment practice issues
  • Get an understanding of the key issues that impact on employment practice
  • provide a platform for studies in employment law or personnel management

Who is this course for

  • Those new to HR/Personnel;
  • Individuals interested in a move into HR/Personnel
  • Line managers who are involved in HR/Personnel activities
  • HR staff who do not have sufficient qualifications to undertake the full PDS
  • Owners and managers of small businesses
