Jamie Robinson - my health and safety journey

Jamie.png

I joined International Workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic and my role as health and safety trainer includes the delivery of IOSH Managing safety and NEBOSH General Certificate courses within commerce and industry.

I have over 20 years of practical experience in the areas of occupational health and safety management, security operations and facilities management within commercial, education and retail sectors. My vast and varied years of industry experience have given me expert knowledge of real business situations in practice, which I can pass onto my delegates.

I passed my National General Certificate in 2009 and from there I moved into full-time occupational health and safety management at a further education college located in Cambridgeshire. In 2016 I took up the role of first aid instructor and passed my Level 3 award in education and training. I have since delivered face-to-face and virtual classroom learning programmes, including first aid, health and safety and SIA licence-linked training courses. I have delivered health and safety seminars, department-specific training packages, induction training and toolbox talk delivery, and developed lesson planning and revision packages.

In occupational health and safety training, my core skills are in the delivery of the practical elements of the NEBOSH General Certificate and IOSH Managing Safely. I have a keen interest in risk assessment and health and safety policy development as these are key areas that all organisations need to be compliant with to manage their risks successfully.

I love my role at international Workplace and look forward to each working day as I am free to be me!

The company has a very supportive team ethic across all departments, which allows me to create good quality lessons in which I can share my passion for the subject and love of good health and safety practice.

My main area of interest is developing course content and producing practical solutions for our delegates, helping them understand the assessment and exam requirements. I get to show each delegate how simple this approach can be so that they have a good understanding and can then go on and apply health and safety more effectively in their workplaces.

I am very proud of achieving a 100% NEBOSH pass rate though my continued support to our delegates.

I am hoping to move to chartered status over the next few years to help me provide the most up-to-date and accredited training for our clients and to help create a mindset of behavioural change through good safety management practices at senior levels.
